July 12, 2009Technology has its placeI was really quite upset a month or so ago when my mum text me to tell me that the family dog, Minnie, had died. She was the second dog our family has had, and has been a fixture in the front yard whenever I've made the journey home, whether that be from uni, Canberra or overseas. Shortly I will be returning to Oz, and I know it's going to hit me pretty hard when I arrive home for the first time and Minnie isn't there to firstly bark at me, then open her eyes a little wider when she recognises me, and then jump all over me excitedly. That's going to be sad. But because of her inquisitive nature, she will be available for veiwing on the InterWeb for time immemorial (or at least until Google does a new sweep of Jefferson Street for the Streetview software). What has happened is that as the Google car was slowly driving up the street taking its little spy pictures of everyone's houses, Minnie got inquisitive and came up to see what was going on (as was her way). And wouldn't you know it, she got snapped on the Google cameras. Very blurry mind you, but recognisable. So my dear readers, may I present to you the lasting memorial of our wonderful dog, Minnie. RIP Message me if you want the link. Posted by geosta at July 12, 2009 05:19 PM
