February 19, 2006Strange the way the mind worksWhilst cooking lunch today, the ethereal sounds of Underworld's 'Born Slippy' escaped from my flatmates bedroom. I love this song, it is an amazing example of how intelligent dance music can do more than just move your feet, but move your mind as well. But past that, eveytime I hear this song, I cannot help but think of 'Trainspotting'. The reason is because for me, the song and the movie are a perfect cohesion. The song matches perfectly with the movie, and just as importantly, the moive matches the song. It isn't just one scene either, it is an easy thing to do to match a scene and a song - this is more than that - the whole movie, the way it makes you feel, is reflected on the music and words of the song. This is a rare thing, but here are a couple that I can think of: Danger Zone - Top Gun Does anyone else feel this way? Anyone else got any suggestions? Posted by geosta at February 19, 2006 05:29 PM
